Stratrix Synergy Evaluation Template is a simple and elegant way to measure the synergistic aspects of a project, a product, or an initiative to the existing enterprise context and frameworks. (This is not about merger synergy, for which we have a different template.)

For example, if you are an auto parts supplier and want to launch bath toys as a brand extension, does it have synergy with the core of what your company is, what it does, and how it does it? Of course, even though there may not be any synergy, corporations sometimes make conscious decisions to launch a product/service or an initiative for strategic reasons.

Synergy Evaluation Template

The Synergy Evaluation Template is a customizable deliverable available in an Excel template to evaluate and measure the synergy across several dimensions.

After modifying the Elements of Synergy and the components, you may assign different weights to each component.  Then, you can enter your score for the “Level of Synergy” column for a given project, initiative, program, or product.  The spreadsheet calculates the subtotals and the overall total score for the synergy.

You can enter free-form text about the positive or negative factors that impact the synergy of the proposed project, product, or initiative.
